Book: The Judeo-Christian Model of Peacemakimg INTRODUCTION
Greetings!  My name is Dr. Ken Newberger. I hold a Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis & Resolution from Nova Southeastern University (FL) and a Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary (TX). I’m also the author of Hope in the Face of Conflict: Making Peace with Others the Way God Makes Peace with Us.
Since 2001, I’ve helped congregations and couples replace conflict with peace, hurt with healing, and distance with connection. For the first 12 years, I served as a mediator for churches, helping church boards, staff, and members restore trust and unity. For the past 12 years, I’ve worked with over 500 couples. I offer an effective form of Christian marriage counseling, known as the Judeo-Christian Model of Peacemaking, that blends a biblical foundation and framework with modern research.
Christian marriage counseling offers a clear, hopeful path forward. Click here to see how this time-tested reconciliation process can help you rebuild your marital relationship and strengthen your emotional bond.

Potomac:  Potomac Maryland is a quiet affluent suburban community that lies within Montgomery County about 14 miles northwest of Washington D.C. According to the 2020 census data the population of the area reached 47,018 residents. The community derives its name from the Potomac River and residents value its elegant tree-lined streets and expansive properties which combine neighborhood tranquility with metropolitan accessibility.

Prestige, Privacy & Property

The real estate market in Potomac shows a strong preference for high-end properties. The houses in this area span from classic Greek Revival to contemporary designs and they occupy spacious grounds with well-manicured gardens. Real estate prices in this area remain stable at $1.3 million while single-family homes reach an average price of $1.45 million and show no signs of decline according to Speicher Group.

The Rhythm of Daily Life

The commercial center along River Road and Falls Road forms a village-style design that promotes walking through brick-paved sidewalks with shops and restaurants. Local broker Dick Stoner comments: This area attracts people through its combination of prestige along with its proximity to D.C.… People know each other. People in this town do not live in a traditional small village but they still recognize the neighbors who reside in their neighborhood.

Yet, life here requires a car. The community remains primarily car-oriented despite its peaceful setting because it lacks adequate public transportation options. As one source notes: During peak hours the commute turns into a prolonged traffic jam that lasts for an hour... The main transportation choices are buses and personal vehicles.

Education & Safety: Top Priorities

The Montgomery County Public Schools manage Potomac which holds a position among the leading school systems in the United States according to Homes.com and Luxury Travel Magazine. The Maryland college-prep high schools Winston Churchill and Walt Whitman consistently place at the top position in the state's rankings. Potomac also stands out for its safety record because violent crimes and property crimes occur at rates below national averages.

Nature, Leisure & Community Spirit

Potomac provides outdoor enthusiasts with a natural area to explore. Visitors can hike through the rocky Billy Goat Trail at Great Falls to see the river views. The local green escape of Cabin John Regional Park offers playgrounds and sports fields and a winter ice rink. The inclusive play sets at Falls Road Park (Hadley’s Park) provide accessibility for families and communities throughout every season of the year.

The shopping center features an historic white oak tree called the Travilah Oak which exceeds 330 years of age. The annual autumn festival in this community features hay rides and scarecrow creation alongside musical performances and additional festivities.

What Resident's Have Said

“I love living in Potomac because it's quiet and calm but you don't have to drive very far to find a more fast-paced lifestyle.”

“It is a very safe and diverse place. Definitely a good area if you are looking for strong academics and athletics.”

“I love Potomac, I feel genuinely safe and comfortable here. Sometimes, the traffic is bad. Additionally, there have been so many fun new businesses within the past few years. It's amazing!”

Finally, there is this humorous Reddit post: “Going to Potomac is like entering the land of the rich. Every house is a mansion, every wife is beautiful, every car is new…”
